This design allows for the lamp to be mounted in a base-up position, to suit single-ended HID lamps that are designed for universal or base-up mounting.

While mounting a lamp in the base-up position will increase the ligh's footprint, its overall intensity is decreased.

The advantage is that the light is spread more evenly throughout the grow area instead of being focused on the area directly below the lamp.

*Not suitable for horizontal-only fitting lamps.
